Last updated: 9 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Go West Windows & Exterior Cleaning collects, why, how we keep it safe, and your rights. We keep it short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, just ask us.

1. Who we are

Go West Windows & Exterior Cleaning (“Go West”, “we”, “us”) is a window and exterior cleaning business owned and run by Justin West, 51 Tyndale Park, Herne Bay, Kent CT6 6BS. We are the “controller” of your personal information.

Contact us about anything in this policy: info@go-west.uk · 07506 714 676 · or write to the address above.

2. What we collect

  • When you ask for a quote (our 60-second quote forms, contact form, phone, text, WhatsApp, email or Facebook): your name, mobile number, email address, house number or name and postcode, details about your property (for example type and number of bedrooms), the services and prices you looked at, your choices (accept, call back or not right now), any message you send us, how you heard about us, and whether you’d rather not get offers and reminders.
  • When you become a customer: your address, contact details, the services and visit frequency you choose, access notes (for example “side gate unlocked”), visit history, prices, payments and any feedback or complaints.
  • Website information: which page brought you to a quote form and any advert or campaign link you followed. If you press Accept on our cookie banner, Google Analytics also records how visitors use the website (pages viewed, rough location, device type). It does not tell us who you are.

We don’t collect sensitive information (such as health details) and we don’t knowingly collect information about children.

4. Who we share it with

Only with trusted services that help us run the business, and only what they need:

  • Our team members who carry out your cleans (name, address, access notes and what to clean).
  • Squeegee (our customer and round management system), for bookings, reminders and invoices.
  • GoCardless and our bank, for Direct Debit and payments.
  • Google (Gmail for email; Google Analytics and Google Maps only if you accept cookies), our website host, and our email delivery for the website forms.
  • Apple (our business phone and contacts) and WhatsApp/Meta or Facebook if you contact us that way.
  • Postcodes.io, a free postcode lookup used by our quote forms to check whether we cover your area (only the postcode is sent).
  • Our accountant, insurers or legal advisers if needed, and the authorities if the law requires it.

Some of these providers may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires (such as UK-approved contract terms or an adequacy decision).

5. How long we keep it

  • Quotes that don’t go ahead: up to 2 years from your last contact, so we can help if you get in touch again, then deleted.
  • Customers: while you’re a customer, then for 6 years after your last service for tax and accounting records, then deleted.
  • Website statistics: Google Analytics keeps data for its standard period (up to 14 months).

6. How we keep it safe

Our business records are kept on password-protected devices and secure, password-protected systems. Only people who need your information to do their job can see it.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to: see a copy of the information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it (including stopping any offers or reminders at any time); or give it to you in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent (cookies), you can withdraw it at any time using the cookie settings link on the website.

To make a request, contact us using the details in section 1. We’ll reply within one month and there’s no charge.

8. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to make the website work and, only if you accept, Google Analytics and Google Maps. See our Cookie Policy for details and to change your choice.

9. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
